As of today there’s 322 new reported Covid cases in all of Los Angeles county. We choose you guys to be our voices, but it seems like our choice is backfiring. We were shut down a year ago today and it was a great choice we bounced back, but to try and shut the restaurants down again would be a economic disaster for our beautiful Southbay. The more people get vaccinated the less Covid cases or fatal Covid cases( I should say) will result. If our cases were in the thousands like they were a few months ago then absolutely.. as a matter fact we did shut down on December 12, 2020, and now our numbers are more lower than ever and you want to spring this on all of the Hermosa shops? That just doesn’t make any sense. This is not a time to shut down this is a time to prosper and move forward from the nightmare we lived last year. I personally have a lot of friends that work as waiters/waitresses, busboys, in these shops and their survival depends on these jobs. Put yourself in their positions how would you approach this? The CDC this morning just released an article saying that fully vaccinated people do not need a mask indoor, but again you want to shut stop dine in service? Again that doesn’t make any sense. Let these businesses thrive, don’t let them die.

This is completely ridiculous. Trying to kill a fly with swat team instead of a flyswatter with no regards to all the collateral damage.

Occupancy restriction will reduce retail profit & consumer enjoyment.
    It’s stupid.

STRONGLY 100% oppose. Who came up with this and how do you possibly expect our businesses to survive under this ordinance? I’ve seen and heard hundreds of people discuss this topic with frustration, hurt, and anger over the last week and have not heard or seen even one comment from any resident in support of these changes. Makes me really wonder what kind of community member would even come up with something like this- it’s absolutely ridiculous. This ordinance will forever hurt the city, the businesses, and the residents. Also- start to slowly say goodbye to property values because if this really does continue then fewer people are going to want to move here or continue living here when the rest of the country is getting on with life.

I think everyone is over the whole “power trip” thing. The whole country is moving on and moving forward yet we want to take STEPS backwards. What are you going to do when CDC opens everything to normal capacity, not follow CDC guidelines because they are moving forward? & yet we wonder why California population has so abruptly declined this year.

I would like to keep eateries in our city and this hurts them. Charging these establishments for customers waiting to enter these businesses is beyond ridiculous.

Our poor local businesses are struggling- even in a normal (non covid) year, they struggle to stay in business especially during the winter months, so please help them survive and prosper, I'd hate for our local businesses to fail and be replaced by larger corps with deeper pockets

As a Hermosa Beach resident I strongly oppose this ordinance. Our small businesses and restaurants have already been hurt enough by the harsh regulations due to COVID-19, this would continue cost them extreme losses. The city should be trying to help them as much as possible on our path to return to normal, not continue to beat them while they’re down.
