I urge this city council to take a cautious approach before you approve this!

I have had experience serving 2 terms as a public works commissioner. I know too well that residents inappropriately feel that adding a stop sign is there only way to solve problems. While Redondo has approved this, it does not affect Redondo the way it does Hermosa residents. take note that:
    1. all traffic and engineering studies show no justification for an all way stop. In fact, the studies did show and documented by at least one written communication from a resident that the problem is line of sight and obstruction of parked cars in seeing oncoming traffic. that is not solved by this configuration. An easier solution is to first correct the line of sight problem and remove the parking where it is blocking line of sight.
    2. public notice has been insufficient and residents will be shocked after this is implemented without notice.
    3. since herondo is heavier traffic, most cars will slow down and ignore the stop sign when they see no cars opposing them
    4. 4 are bad enough, 3 way stops are harder for drivers to understand
    5. the unintended consequences are drivers will divert themselves to more residential streets after implementation causing more problems for more residents. No study was done to determine this affect.

Summary!!!! Lets fix the line of sight problems and safety issues first before we add more stop signs that are not needed

    thanx
